French ambassador from Najaf Chamber we asked to open consulate in Najaf  and we will support traders to visit France

 

France is the first supporter to Iraq and supporting traders will enhance the trade exchange, Eng. Haider Al-Athari has said.

 

Vice president of Najaf Chamber of Commerce Eng. Haider Al-Athari during his meeting with the French ambassador in Baghdad, said: " Iraq has historical ties with France back to the seventies of the last century and Najaf chamber had signed MOUs with the French embassy and with the French federal for international arbitration.

 

The French ambassador in Baghdad Mr. Marc Barety  said :"the security situation in Iraq is much better than the last year and oil prices suppose to be rise to about 80$ per barrel , Since the current prices is a catastrophe for producers and consumer countries.

Mr. Barety  added :" I asked the French ministry of foreign affairs to open a consulate in the province of Najaf.

He promised businessmen to issue French Schingen  visa in cooperation with the Commercial Section of the Embassy.

And added that French Embassy has issued hundreds of visas in the past year also issued about 40 visas for Najafi businessmen.

Mr. Baretti listened to Najafi businessmen's visions and some of the obstacles facing trade exchange between France and Najaf, promising facilitating everything that hinders economic progress for both sides.

The Commercial Attaché Mr.  Jolean Felod invited Najafi businessmen to invest in France the second biggest economy in Europe.

Mr. Felod mentioned that : Foreign investments is about 40% of stock market in France and  20% of French companies are foreign capital.

Also Iraqis has good investments in France especially in real-estate.

 

It has to be mentioned that many businessmen and members of Najaf Chamber's board of directors and cultural and political councils attended the meeting.
