National Bank of Iraq visits the Chamber of Commerce

National Bank of Iraq delegation visited the Chamber of Commerce of Najaf included Mr. Ayman Abodhim Vice President of Board of Directors and Mr. Bassam Bitar, head of Central Operations.

Eng.  Zuhair Sharba chairman of  Chamber of commerce , members of board of directors of the chamber and managers of private banks in Najaf welcomed the National Bank delegation.

Mr. Ayman Abodhim gave a detailed presentation on services and bank activity in Iraq,

He said:" Capital Bank, currently the only Jordanian bank with a presence in the Iraqi market, is a major shareholder in NBI with a 61.85% share.

It offers unparalleled services not for members of the Iraqi and businesses, but also to the regional and global individuals and businesses. Capital is the gateway to the Bank Ahli Bank of Iraq to open up to the world's economies by facilitating internal and external remittances, trade finance and support services"  . 

He added : "It has three branches in Baghdad, and two branches in Basra and a branch in Najaf, Karbala and Irbil and Mosul and Sulaymaniyah  ."

Eng. Zuhair Sharba said that : "the development of the banking business in Iraq will reflect positively on the private sector, noting that the private sector today has a big issue with the banks, concerning  loans and bank facilities in this regard".

The National Bank of Iraq (NBI) was established in 1995 as a publically traded private sector company to deliver a comprehensive set of banking solutions for businesses and individuals in Iraq. The bank’s growth and success has led to a gradual increase in its paid-up capital reaching IQD 250 billion (USD 215 million) by December 2013.

 Capital Bank, currently the only Jordanian bank with a presence in the Iraqi market, is a major shareholder in NBI with a 61.85% share.
